A wonderfully practical program
Here is a great program you can put to work in just a few weeks. I was very impressed with how practical a program this was. Dodge gives speech pathologists something they can really use in the schools. 5 stars for creativity!

Complete Relaxation

Authors: Stephen Kravette, Steve Kravette, and Plunkett Dodge
Average review score:

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh...
This is the best book I've ever read on relaxation techniques. It goes from simple exercises to complex philosophical and lifestyle questions without ever losing its gentle, rhythmic pace. Just READING it is relaxing, even if you never do a single exercise. But if you DO do the exercises, the book will simply and easily teach you to retrain your body. Get this book; it'll be one of the best things that happens to you in your life.

A must for any Family Child Care Provider
This book is wonderful! It has great information for new providers (how to set up your home, managing the day, working with parents, etc)as well as ideas for the experienced provider. It gives information about the importance of block play, creative art, dramatic play, sand/water play, music, outdoor play, and toys. It tells you how to involove children of all ages in activities, and also tells what equipment you should have available. There are lots of inexpensive homemade games and toys described too.

The Creative Curriculum for Infants & Toddlers

Authors: Amy Laura Dombro, Laura J. Colker, and Diane Trister Dodge
Average review score:

Our curriculum of choice!
This is the curriculum adopted by our school district for Infant/Toddler Early Intervention programs and Pre K VE.

Pleasing and Practical!
It is difficult to find a comprehensive curriculum guide for infants and toddlers- but here it is! This book is well-organized and easy-to-read. It begins with basic information on developmental issues specific to infants and toddlers. Then it moves on to practical information on how to create an optimal environment for infants, toddlers, and their families. Information is culturally-sensitive and developmentally appropriate. There are numerous sample forms and program plans that professionals can use as a guide in creating an infant/toddler program. There are also vignettes that allow the reader to see how the information can be applied. I highly recommend this book as a reference for the professional working with this population!

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool
Published in Paperback by Teaching Strategies (June, 2002)
Authors: Diane Trister Dodge, Laura J. Colker, Cate Heroman, and Toni S. Bickart
Average review score:

The most comprehensive book about best ECE practice!
Although I already had the Creative Curriculum 3rd edition, I was compelled to by this newer version, the 4th edition, when I heard there was new information. I was not disappointed. The Creative Curriculum is a guide for early childhood classrooms which address the environment and learning centers, as well as the role of the teacher. It is compatible with other known practices in early childhood, including the project approach, Reggio Emilia, and emergent curriculum. The book describes the setup and rationale for learning centers from Blocks to Library to outdoors. There are letters and information for parents, assessment and documentation sections. I can't say enough good things about this book!!

The Cruising Guide to Abaco, Bahamas: 2001
Published in Paperback by White Sound Press (December, 2000)
Authors: Steve Dodge, Jon Dodge, and Jeff Dodge
Average review score:

Dodge Crusing Guide
I just returned from a 9 day bareboat sailboat charter in the Abacos and used the Dodge guide extensively. If you're going to the Abacos, this is really all you need and it would be useful even if you're not on a boat. The author has included routes and GPS waypoints for all the 6' draft routes you'll likely need. We found the nformation to be right on. Before our trip I bought all the crusing guides available for the Abacos. If I had it to do again I'd go with this one and the one by Wyatt. They have much of the same information, however Dodge is more matter of fact while Wyatt offers more personal opinion and andecotes. I enjoyed and used them both.

Dau
Published in Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (March, 1986)
Author: Ed Dodge

THIS is the Heart of Darkness!
I've read many novels that came out of the Vietnam War. I was one of many little brothers who watched our older brothers go off to it so I have always been trying to understand it from a concerned spectator's point of view. This novel by Ed Dodge has increased my understanding significantly. The title means pain, and it is sometimes painful to read this story. The ending brought me to tears. This is an important book; it deals with post-traumatic stress disorder in a powerful and poignant way. Readers wanting depiction of action in Vietnam will also find no disappointment here. We often think of just the "grunts" when looking into Vietnam, but its scope involved all of our military in their own unique ways. I advise anyone interested in Vietnam to seek this book out. And as I am writing this on Memorial Day, to remember and honor men like Ed Dodge, who gave so much in the service of our country.

Death in Dodge City (Giant Gunsmith Series, 4)
Published in Paperback by Jove Pubns (May, 1999)
Author: J. R. Roberts
Average review score:

The Gunsmith teams up with legends from yesterday.
Death in Dodge City, is a great book, with a host of the old west legends. Luke Short, Bat Masterson and Wyatt Earp. Clint Adams is their friend, and they help each other out. This was the first Gunsmith novel I read. The author does a great job, combining the real life legends, with his character, Clint Adams. I'm now hooked on the Gunsmith series. Don't pass them up.

Good foundation
This is a great book about the development of emotion regulation. The chapters are informative and thought provoking. If your research interests include social cognition and are interested in the development of such, this book is a must have. It provides a wonderful foundation on which to build.
